Does the free demo block trades in my existing EA?
No. It sends no orders and controls no other EA. It shows the state checks and persistence pattern to inspect before a source-authorized integration.
MT5 risk-rule implementation guide
Define the equity basis, reset clock, time window and restart behavior before adding a daily-loss guard to an authorized MT5 EA.
Keep the dated source URL and exact account type. Confirm whether the limit uses balance, equity, open P/L, commissions or a fixed starting amount. Rules differ and can change.
Record the firm timezone, daylight-saving handling and the exact moment a new daily basis begins. Do not substitute the computer clock for the firm rule.
A guard attached after the reset cannot reconstruct earlier floating equity from an empty state. Choose a verified source or fail closed rather than silently treating current equity as the day opening.
Store the day key and equity basis in a durable state. On a same-day restart, load the saved basis before evaluating a new order.
Decide whether the boundary itself blocks, and whether open positions, pending orders, other EAs and manual trades are included.
Use a named server or firm timezone and explicit inclusive and exclusive edges. Test just before start, at start, just before end and at end.
A separate dashboard cannot stop another EA from sending orders. The check must gate every relevant authorized order path in editable source.
Run one same-day terminal restart and one next-day reset. Check that the saved basis is restored once and a new basis is created only at the specified reset.
A Strategy Tester result can prove the configured software state transitions; it cannot prove future fills, profitability or challenge compliance.
No. It sends no orders and controls no other EA. It shows the state checks and persistence pattern to inspect before a source-authorized integration.
Resetting the daily baseline to current equity after a restart can hide losses already incurred that day. The original basis must survive the restart.
No. The loss definition, reset clock, position treatment and breach action must come from the current rule for the specific firm and account type.

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading, and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. There are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. Hypothetical results are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight, do not involve financial risk, and cannot completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. Market conditions, the ability to withstand losses, and adherence to a trading program can all materially affect actual results.
